Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ACE Developer with strong experience in IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) (formerly IBM Integration Bus) and ESQL development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying integration solutions across enterprise systems using IBM App Connect, AP Connect, and related middleware tools.

This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API management, message flows, and cloud integration in hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain integration flows using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).

  • Develop complex message transformations and routing logic using ESQL, Compute nodes, and Mapping nodes.

  • Configure and deploy integration solutions to cloud and on-premise environments.

  • Integrate with various systems including REST/SOAP APIs, databases (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle), MQ, and file systems.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize integration flows for performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Work with AP Connect (IBM API Connect) to design and manage APIs, enforce security policies, and handle traffic management.

  • Participate in integration architecture design sessions and contribute to technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and testers to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business requirements.

  • Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and participate in code reviews.

  • Support CI/CD automation, source control management, and integration testing frameworks.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or App Connect Enterprise (ACE) development.

  • Strong ESQL programming experience (Compute and Database interactions).

  • Hands-on experience with AP Connect / IBM API Connect (API creation, management, and security).

  • Experience in message flow design, error handling, logging, and performance tuning.

  • Familiarity with SOAP/REST APIs, JSON/XML/XSLT, and message transformation.

  • Experience with IBM MQ, JMS, HTTP, and Database nodes.

  • Strong understanding of SOA and Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps for integration deployment.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and within agile development teams.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • IBM Certified Solution Developer – App Connect Enterprise (preferred).

  • Additional certifications in API Connect, Cloud Integration, or DevOps tools will be advantageous.
